TODAY BEGAN with Year 3 learning a whole host of new techniques including left and right clicking, editing and transforming shapes, and tracing from an illustration to create what will be the basis for a Lego Film Poster. The latter will be for an animation they are creating with their regular teacher back in school.
Although much of the Lego figure can be made using the stock shapes available on Apple’s Pages program, such features as the ‘body’ and the ‘arms’ and in the case of the photo LEFT the ‘hair’ have to be created from an edited version of the stock shapes using a ‘ right’ click command.
The figures were saved into school and will be used by their teacher Mr Nation to be combined with backgrounds and lettering to make a film poster.
In the afternoon, Year 5 also were introduced to many of the same techniques, along with ‘Adjust Image’, ‘Mask’ and ‘Instant Alpha’ to practice some skills for a forthcoming anti-litter poster for school.
What turned out to be a slightly shorter session than hoped for produced the traced IoM map (LEFT), a complex composition of three photos of rainbow, sea and beach (BELOW LEFT) and another compilation (BELOW).
Again, the nboys and girls will get an opportunity to continue this work in school between now and the next computer bus visit
