THURSDAY saw the bus being filmed for an upcoming Isle of Man Government promotional movie, with film makers Charles Guard and Neil Corlett pointing their state-of-the-art HD Camera at the bus and the students of Sulby School.
The bus was filmed passing through Kirk Michael, ‘jumping’ Ballaugh Bridge and arriving at the picturesque Sulby School.
During the morning, the computer bus man was filmed introducing the topic for the day - Manx Landmarks - and the boys and girls of Year 4 and 5 with their teacher Miss Needham were captured working on their 3-D Sketchup models.
As this was the children’s first go with the splendid Google Sketchup program, they made simple houses - and will move on to look at Manx Landmarks in due course.
Unusually many of the structures created by Year 4 and 5 featured two floor interiors, with staircases and furniture - as well as full-featured gardens.
Miss Needham wrote in an email: “Thank YOU for yesterday - it was brilliant - the kids learned loads and loved it! I learned loads too and was really impressed by what the kids achieved in such a short space of time. We'll definitely be doing more and will let you know how we got on.”
